One of Biggie's classics, and personally one of the best Hip-Hop Storytelling records that was ever made. I use to play this song over and over again, and close my eyes and be able to imagine what he was saying in the song. Be able to do that shows how powerful words and if used in the right way, can do some incredible things, and Biggie proved that in this song. Enjoy!
OK...so I'll admit that I'm not proficient in rap music or even R & B. However, I love the fact that in your blog, you point out that the words inspire. I used this way of explaining music/poetry in the classroom, and knowing that you're planning on going into education, this aspect of understanding music as a kind of "lyric poetry" will resonate with your future students! Awesome!
Thanks Nancy, I plan on using music a whole lot in the classroom as a way to connect with them and show there are other ways of learning things than using the textbook all the time...
Question, Biggie or Tupac? Ha, and yes this is a serious question.
ReplyDeleteChristopher Wallace! "Throw Down some ice for the nicest Mc"

ReplyDeleteYea Robert LOL I have to go with BIG, his wordplay, delivery, he had it all. Not taking nothing away from Pac, but BIG was the ultimate MC.
ReplyDeleteDamn, I have never heard that before. I want to listen to the whole record now.
ReplyDeleteWhich one Jackie?
